ABOUT RONNIE

Ronnie was the cartoonist for the Sports Argus – a popular Saturday sports paper published in Birmingham, England. Every week Ronnie’s cartoons would depict the exploits of the Midland sides, proving a big hit among the Argus’ readership. This website celebrates Ronnie’s work that appeared in the publication.

Ronnie's mascots

To accompany the cartoons depicting the weekly shenanigans of the local teams (and the teams they were playing), Ronnie developed a collection of cheeky characters inspired by the traditional history and mythology inherent in the people’s game. All these characters have been further developed into finished artwork. Maybe you can find your favourite in our gallery!
